The Hill To Be Converted Into Bowling Lanes During Off-Season
February 7th, 2025
THE HILL - Students know it, and love it, my dad goes crazy whenever they show it on TV, The Hill. App State’s unofficial student section is a beloved spot to stand and drunkenly slip down during Rock hosted football games, but what happens during the off-season? The dirt slide for post-game celebration is always well maintained, and perhaps with this new announcement, even improved. App State Athletics has announced that when not in use, The Hill will be transformed into an outdoor bowling alley, called Rock and Roll.
The lanes are free for guided tours and cost $20 per hour for everyone else. Balls will be provided but there is no automated retrieval system. You must carry your bowling ball uphill. The Hill will remain a grassy knoll. Bowlers will also have to reset their pins after each roll and all score animations, featuring Yosef, will be played on the Jumbotron. The second phase of opening will incorporate manually lit fireworks when a player scores a strike. Happy bowling and let the good times roll!
